Our Family (Including My Belly) is Expanding

We’re back. I guess I should say I’m back. After almost three months of taking a blogging hiatus, I can finally tell you why it was necessary that I take a hiatus at all. We are proud to announce that our little family of three will soon be expanding to a family of four… Baby Howell is due to enter our world on January 6th, 2014. Yes…January 6th. Two short days after Lola’s own birthday on January 4th. Not the best planning on our part, but hey…our kids are going to have one heck of a birthday bash every year. It must have been all of the swimming

My girl is slowly (and I mean as of this weekend!) getting out of the “must fall asleep on boob” stage, but that is only because her father is successfully utilizing some skills he picked up from The Happiest Baby on the Block. What we have found is that we needed to cater the practices to what best suits Lola and her needs. Well, as I properly titled this post it indeed must have been all of the lap swimming I did while Lola was in my womb because the girl loves to be “jiggled”. After she has finished eating (if she’s not already asleep), Rob will swaddle her, hold her in the football position (another love of the chica) and just pace around the house jiggling her....

I have a confession to make. . .

…I kind of miss being pregnant. This isn’t to take away from Lola being here because I love my girl more than just about anything. I can’t remember what life was like before her nor do I ever want to. I just mean I liked loved being pregnant. Most likely because I didn’t have those hella symptoms (except for the first trimester morning sickness), but even that seems like nothing because it was so long ago. Now I’m not even close to being ready to do it all over again… probably not for quite some time, but I’m shocked as to how much I really do miss it.
