Cloth in Costa

Cloth diapering was something that Rob and I were so stoked about. Not only are they better for the environment, they are also easier on Lola’s toochie as well as our pocketbook. The problem that we have found with the cloth diapers we are using is that they make Lola sweat like crazy. We live in Costa Rica and it is currently our summer here meaning it’s hot! The insert for the cloth diapers are made of a heavy terry cloth which isn’t absorbing as well as I would have hoped. Lola is waking up because she is literally soaked, but she isn’t soaked in urine… it’s sweat. So, we have been trying to come to a compromise. Maybe cloth diapers during the day and disposable at night?...

Loving Mom

Today is my mom’s birthday (actually I’m writing this a day early because I’ll be too busy the actual day of her birthday). When I think of how much my mom means to me it can damn near bring me to tears… and that’s not just because I’m pregnant. She truly is a remarkable individual. She has always worked incredibly hard for everything that she has. I used to curse her for not being there to pick me up from dance class because she was too busy running her restaurant.
