**I apologize in advance, but this post is crazy long…I just have too much to share! Last week, Lola and I hopped on a plane and headed out to Colorado to go visit my sister, Jada and her family. While Jada and I don’t share blood, we’ve shared everything else in our lives for over 25 years so to me…she is as close as any blood sister could ever be. Our flight left early which meant the princess had a smug look on her face when we quietly whispered “Lola it’s time to get up”. Right When You Least Expect It

Two nights ago, it had seemed like any other typical night. Rob was working on the computer as Lola and I practiced talking, making noises and just settling down before bed. Lola’s crib is still in our room which is clearly an issue I probably should address someday soon, but that’s a whole other blog post. Anyway, her crib is at the end of our bed and her new obsession is to bang her pacifier on the crib while sitting on the bed. She likes to look over into the crib and she gets crazy irate when she drops her paci in it because, unlike before, she can actually see her paci now. The Best Surprise Ever!

After a long day of work, I came home to Rob exclaiming he had a surprise for me. Selfishly, I’m thinking “an iPad?”, or maybe “a Macbook?” or another early birthday present that comes from the Apple world? But what was waiting for me was better than any piece of cool technology. What Rob rushed in to give me was one of the best surprises I have ever had in my life. He showed me pictures of Lola pulling herself to standing for the very first time!! Then her legs got a bit unsturdy but she wasn’t going down without a fight…she kept trying to hold herself up. Lola actually pulled herself to standing today…not once, but twice! Now we aren’t sure if today was a “two” time...
