School’s Out for Summer!

Another school year has come and gone. It feels like just yesterday we were getting Lola ready for her first day back to school and now here she is ready to move on to a pre-k/kindergarten class. That thought in itself is enough to send me into a blubbering pool of tears, but I’m so very proud of how far she’s come this year. She continues to make such progress each and every day and I can’t thank her support system at the Indiana School for the Blind and Visually Impaired (ISBVI) enough for all they’ve done to foster her development. “Through the Looking Glass”

You all may remember when we created Team Lola and we walked to raise money for the Indiana Blind Children’s Foundation (iBCF) – the philanthropic arm of the Indiana School for the Blind and Visually Impaired (ISBVI). Thanks to many of you, we were able to raise over $1100 in funds that went directly to the school. After the fundraiser, I was contacted by Theresa Brun, the Executive Director of the Indiana Blind Children’s Foundation. She asked if I was interested in sitting on an auction committee for the iBCF’s very first auction. Plant Sale at ISBVI

If you are in the Indianapolis area then please go check out the Plant Sale at the Indiana School for the Blind and Visually Impaired. It is going on from now until May 12th (closed Sunday) and all proceeds go to the ISBVI. The hours are Monday thru Friday, Noon – 5 pm and Saturday, 9 am – 4 pm. They have everything from annuals, perennials, hostas, herbs, vegetables and an assortment of flower pots the students themselves have hand-painted. It is a beautiful greenhouse and the funds couldn’t go to a better cause....
