Can’t Think of a Clever Title

We had a fussy baby this morning. I know some days I wake up pissed off at the world so it is only natural that a baby can feel that way too. Our usual morning routine of snuggles, giggles, food, medicine, diaper change and therapy was interrupted by a whole lot of fussing. Lola’s continuous river of drool leads me to believe it could be the teeth, but I think as parents we often say our kid is fussy because of teething. Sure it’s logical, but I also think it is used as an excuse because we don’t want to say our kid is fussy simply because the kid is fussy. So this morning I laid Lola on the floor in the office while I worked on emails....

Only One More Left

Thursday my mom drove Lola and me to therapy with Moisés. It is hard to believe we only have one more session left with him. I’ve been a bit emotional lately and I was in tears telling him how much he has meant to our family. The physical strength and transformation we have seen in Lola is all thanks to Moisés. You could see the happiness he felt knowing how far Lola has come. His quote of the day was “she’s doing so great” which of course was like music to our ears. Lola spent most of the time vertical in what Moisés calls the “ligas”. This is crucial for Lola’s balance and it helps for her to understand the feeling of being upright. She did amazing! She...

The Photo Shoot

Today our friend, Diana came over for our first family photo shoot. We had good intentions of photographs when I was pregnant, but life was too busy. We had even better intentions of photographs when Lola was a newborn, but again time just seemed to slip by. So Diana was adamant about taking pictures of us before we left for the U.S. and I’m so glad she stayed on us about it. Lola was a trooper given she had just woken up from a nap. It was hot out, I kept making her change outfits and based on the constant facial massages she was giving herself, it was obvious her teeth were bothering her. You know had it been a couple of months ago, I would have had...

SASY! Charity Auction 2011

We are dog people. Well actually we were cat people before we moved to Costa Rica, but seeing that we didn’t want to torture our cats (all three) with the flight as well as the hot weather, we decided to find them good homes instead. I guess we think our dogs are sturdier because we are making them fly and we they will go from living in a tropical climate to a much colder one. Anyway, back to being dog people. So my mother is now the President of SASY! which is a non-profit organization that raises money to offer spay/neuter clinics for areas in Costa Rica and Nicaragua. Isn’t she a hottie? The Cutie is on Cloud B

I know I’m biased because I’m Lola’s mom and all, but damn she looked cute yesterday. [frame align=”center”][/frame] [frame align=”center”][/frame] [frame align=”center”][/frame] [frame align=”center”][/frame] [frame align=”center”][/frame] I don’t normally push products on people, but yesterday our good friends John and Linda brought Lola a Cloud B Gentle Giraffe and I must say it is one of the best gifts she has ever received. When John heard the various sounds, he cleverly thought of Lola and her fine tuned hearing. It has four jungle themed settings that vary from Safari Groove to Babbling Brook. Lola was instantly hooked! Not only does she listen to the sounds, but she also reaches out to feel the giraffe. It has a handy strap so you can attach it to your stroller or...
