Extreme Room Makeover for Lola

Part of my absence on this blog is because we have been busy trying to get our house back in order. After three years of renting the house out to strangers, we quickly realized that we were watching our asset go down the drain. No one will take care of your home as you yourself would, but I still believed that people had tact even if they were simply renting. Out of all the rooms that were in the most dire need of a makeover, Lola’s room was by far the worst. We put down new carpet which prompted Rob to begin the painting. “Normal” Never Sounded so Good

Well first off we have BIG news to share…Lola’s EEG came back normal! Thankfully there were no signs of seizure activity which means that either the medicine is working or Lola is simply not having seizures. The party was held at our friends, Mike and Mickey’s, who also happened to supply most of the crafts and books as crafting parties are a regular occurrence at their home. I was a bit shocked and overwhelmed (as I...

Lola’s Birthday – Part One

This little girl has had a busy birthday week full of activities, lots of fun new toys, too many sweets and a whole bunch of birthday loving. After her First Steps evaluation on Wednesday, she opened the first batch of her presents and then we spent the afternoon out and about. When trying to think of fun stuff Lola would enjoy on her birthday, two things came to mind: something sweet and the pool. We stopped off at my work to say hello and indulge in some chocolate cake. Unfortunately I didn’t have my camera, but let me just say Lola is a HUGE fan of chocolate cake. The ten or so bites sent her into full blown hyper-mode for over five hours! I took her to the...
