Happy Father’s Day Rob!

I was going to not do a full “Happy Father’s Day Rob” post because the man knows how much I appreciate him. It doesn’t take one day a year for my husband to know that I cherish the ground he walks on. But today as I entered the kitchen from a long day of work, I noticed my mother’s screen saver up on her computer. It was a continuous collage of photos that were taken the day Lola was born. I watched the collage intently and began to cry because that day forever changed our lives. Changed our lives in the best way possible. The best way imaginable. Happy Mother’s Day, Meredith!

Well, you don’t hear often from me on this blog. But since I am Meredith’s husband (and Lola’s dad), I wanted to take a few minutes and wish my wife a very Happy Mother’s Day! I haven’t logged into the site (the behind-the-scenes system) for such a long time because Meredith does such a great job managing and organizing this site. In fact, it kind of intimidates me (and makes me proud) to see how well she has her categories organized, how she cross-references her links, and . . . oh, I’m getting a little geeky (it must have rubbed off on her a little.) Day 11 – May 8th, 2011 (Mother’s Day)

Today I told Rob all I wanted for Mother’s Day was for Lola to be seizure-free.  Well that wish almost came true.  She had two seizure clusters today.  One was at 3:00 am again and the other was at almost noon.  She had about 13 seizures in the cluster last night and only about two in the one this afternoon.  I did not monitor her during her nap, so I can’t say if she had any or not.  I’m realizing that I can’t always watch her sleep to see if she’ll seize.  The doctor said to report the ones that I see, so we’ll leave it at two for today.  No other significant changes to report other than she is 13 pounds now!!
