Sweet Baby Howell

This follow-up post was supposed to be just that – an immediate follow-up to my last post. But hey…I’m pregnant (29 weeks now) and I’m already a mama to a child who now treats our living room furniture like a darn jungle gym (even gets up on the coffee table with this crazy look of pride) which means no eyes can be taken off of her. Ever. Well I had discussed before about why our family and friends were in Indianapolis to visit…and while the immediate reason was obviously to hang out with the coolest child on the planet, they were also here to help celebrate the soon arrival of Baby Howell. Sweet Baby Howell. The restaurant where I work was graciously donated to us to celebrate my...

Family Unions Reuniting

This post might be long…in fact, I’m thinking I should break it up into two posts because as requested by my readers, I have pictures. And I mean lots of pictures. Where to start? It’s 6:30 am, I’m 28 weeks pregnant and my brain is in 28 different locations. Bear with me. I think I’ll start with family… On a rainy Sunday morning, I was able to leave work early and as I was getting ready to eagerly head home when I read an email from my mom. Subject Caption : Arrive Early I knew my mom and Steve were in the U.S. (remember they live in Costa Rica) beginning their three week vacation and I knew we were a stop somewhere in between, but I was thrilled...

Enjoying Summer

A Visit A couple of weekends ago, we had the pleasure of opening up our home to Rob’s mom and her significant other, Greg. Many people ask if I get along with my mother-in-law in and I’m thankful to say that Kathy and I have a pretty special relationship. When you get married, your spouses people become your people too. I lucked out (and I think Rob would say the same…at least he better!) in the in-law department. I was once saddened by the grave reality that many of my own family members had passed and while those I loved can never be replaced, it’s nice to have more people in my life I can proudly call my family. We didn’t plan much for the weekend – –...

Third Wedding and a Birthday

Hard to believe so much time has passed since my last blog post. It’s not that nothing has gone on — it’s simply that life has been too jammed packed with excitement to sit down and actually write about it. Wedding #3 Three years ago, Rob and I did what most couples only dream of doing…we had a “destination wedding” in Costa Rica. Although how lucky for us that we actually were living in Costa Rica when we decided to take that leap into blissful eternity. Our first ceremony was when we were legally married by a Costa Rican lawyer and then a few days later we said our vows publicly in a beautiful union amongst all of our family and friends. But when we moved back to...

A Quick Catch-Up Through Pictures

I warned you. I had a hunch this pregnancy would keep me away from my beloved blog. I can’t blame it on morning sickness anymore because finally at 14 weeks, I’m starting to be amongst the living once again. I guess you could say I’m just one tuckered out mama. Between working extensive hours, keeping up with my crazy 2 1/2 year old, trying to at least put my laundry away and staying present in my marriage…well, I guess I’m just stretched a little thin right now (although my belly is stretching WAY out). When I plop my tush down at the end of the day, I just want to sit still, not move and not think. I just want to be. Actually, I just want to be...
